The Electricity Market is open to all entities that:
- have adequate professional qualifications and are proficient in the use of Information
Technology (IT) systems and related security systems;
- have not been convicted (with final judgement or with a judgement inflicting the penalty
at the request of the parties) of agiotage, violation of the privacy of IT communications
or computer fraud;
- have not been previously excluded from the Electricity Market.
For admission to the Electricity Market, applicants should:
1. submit a Market Participation Application
(in the format enclosed to the Integrated Electricity Market Rules), together with documentation certifying that they qualify under the above requirements;
(ATTENTION: to participate in the Electricity Market only, please tick (ü) the box before the wording “Electricity Market” on page 2 of the Market Participation Application form; to participate in both the Electricity Market and the Green Certificates Market, please select both boxes);
2. submit a Market Participation Agreement
(in the format enclosed to the
Integrated Electricity Market Rules), in two originals. Each page of the Agreement should be signed by the legal representative of the applicant. In the Agreement, the contracting party certifies to be aware of and accept the Integrated Text of the Electricity Market Rules without any condition or reservation.
The notification of admission to the market qualifies the applicant as Market Participant.
Market Participants are entered into the “Register of Market Participants”, which is held by GME in compliance with personal data privacy legislation.
Electricity Market Participants are required to pay a (one-time) access fee, a yearly fixed fee (every 12 months, beginning on the date of admission) and a variable fee (for additional information, go the Fees section). The obligation to pay the fees terminates only if the Market Participant submits to GME a formal request of exclusion from the market.
(ATTENTION: a Market Participant that is not active in the market but does not to submit a formal request of exclusion is held to pay the yearly fixed fee).
The Electricity
Market Guide provides useful information on how to complete the Application
and the Agreement and on the documents to be enclosed thereto.
The Market Participation Application and all the documents to be enclosed thereto should be submitted only in the Italian version.
