about the PB-GAS
GME organises and manages the natural-gas balancing platform (PB-GAS), which consists of the following markets:
  • MPL - locational market of products, in which, under ARERA's Resolution 312/2016/R/GAS, Snam Rete Gas can request for the activation of special sessions in which Snam Rete Gas itself purchases the gas quantities required to handle the physical demands localized within the balancing zone or deviations provided between  overall network injections and withdrawals from the balancing users
  • MGS - regulated market for the trading of gas stored, in which, under ARERA's  Resolution 312/2016/R/GAS, users and Snam Rete Gas may trade purchase and sale offers/bids of stored gas.

The selection of offers/bids accepted in both markets in which the PB-GAS develops takes place based on the procedure of auction trading.

The sessions of the PB-GAS are held according to the following timetable:

  • MPL: GME, following the receipt of the request for activation of a MPL session sent by Snam Rete Gas pursuant to ARERA's Resolution 312/2016/R/gas posts on the information system of the PB-GAS:
    o the trading hours of the session;
    o the opening and closing times of the relevant session for the submission of offers/bids;

    The results of the MPL session are published by GME within thirty minutes from the closure of the session.

  • MGS:
  • - the sitting for submission of bids/offers opens at 9:00 a.m. of the fourth gas-day preceding the gas-day being traded and ends at 10:00 a.m. of the gas-day after the one being traded;
    - the results are published by GME by 11:00 a.m. of the gas-day following the gas-day being traded.
