Increase in the number of order books that can be activated within MCIC - update of DTF n. 03 MCIC

Market participants are informed that, starting from the trading session of the Market for certificates of release to consumption of biofuels (MCIC) of July 14th, the number of order books that can be activated under the MCIC will be increased to include, for the following two types of certificates: i) "CIC biofuels" - Biomethane source and ii) "CICBMTAV advanced biomethane", an order book referring to the year of validity n+1.

The adjustment of the number of order books within the MCIC was necessary to implement the change of the information flows functional to the organization and management of the market, made by the GSE, following the issue of the typologies, starting from the current year (or 2022) of "CIC biofuels" - Biomethane source and " CICBMTAV advanced biomethane" with year of validity n+1, recognized to biomethane qualified producers by the GSE pursuant to Article 5 of the Ministerial Decree of 02 March 2018.

Therefore, starting from the aforementioned session of July 14th, the MCIC order books will be able to have the following new configuration:

  • “CIC biofuels”, Biofuel source, year of validity n-1;
  • “CIC biofuels”, Biofuel source, year of validity n;
  • “CIC biofuels”, Biomethane source, year of validity n-1;
  • “CIC biofuels”, Biomethane source, year of validity n;
  • “CIC biofuels”, Biomethane source, year of validity n+1;

  • “CICAV other advanced biofuels”, Biofuel source, year of validity n-1;
  • “CICAV other advanced biofuels”, Biofuel source, year of validity n;

  • “CICBMTAV advanced biomethane”, Biomethane source, year of validity n-1;
  • “CICBMTAV advanced biomethane”, Biomethane source, year of validity n;
  • “CICBMTAV advanced biomethane”, Biomethane source, year of validity n+1;

To this end, we inform you that, with the publication on GME's website, the updated version of the Technical Implementing Provisions 03 MCIC enters into force today, in which the "screens", available there, have been updated. They can be seen as examples of configuration of possible order books on the market platform. This updated version of the DTF (or DTF n. 03 rev. 02 MCIC) fully replaces the previous version of the same Technical Implementing Provisions published on GME's website.
