Changes in view of the introduction of the FCR – START OF BLANK TESTS


On 30 April 2026, Terna (Transmission System Operator) has issued a notice (https://www.terna.it/it/sistema-elettrico/pubblicazioni/news-operatori/dettaglio/fcr-modifiche-mercati-dal-3-giugno-2026-piano-prove-11-22-maggio-2026), communicating the time window of its own blank tests concerning the changes to be made in view of the introduction of the FCR on 3 June 2026, in compliance with Testo Integrato del Dispacciamento Elettrico (TIDE – Integrated Text of Electricity Dispatching Rules – Annex A to ARERA Resolution 345/2023, as amended and supplemented by subsequent resolutions and, lastly, Resolution 51/2026). Further to the above-mentioned notice, GME informs that it will organise special blank test sessions with market participants, in order to enable them to test the new features of the IPEX platform.

GME’s blank test sessions will be held in May, in the periods from 11 to 15, and from 18 to 22, according to the following schedule.

Schedule for the sessions from Monday to Friday on flow day D+1:

  1. MGP
    1. Preliminary information: 09:30
    2. Closing of the sitting: 11:00
    3. Results: 12:00
  2. IDA1
    1. Closing of the sitting: 14:00
    2. Results: 14:30
  3. FCR Results
    1. Margin flows and feasibility intervals as a result of the FCR: 15:30
  4. MSD1
    1. Closing of the sitting: 16:00
    2. Results: 18:00

All market participants wishing to take part in the tests may access the test platforms by using the same credentials as those for access to the live platforms.

Please note that the data entered by market participants during the blank tests will not be used for operational purposes.
