On 23 September 2026, Terna (the National Transmission System Operator) announced its participation (beginning on 25 November 2026) in the platform for the exchange of balancing energy from frequency restoration reserves with manual activation, pursuant to article 20 of Regulation (EU) 2017/2195 (hereafter mFRR), developed as part of the MARI (Manually Activated Reserves Initiative) project. Further to the above communication, GME informs market participants that, jointly with Terna, it will organise appropriate blank test sessions to allow the testing of the new features of the IPEX platform, which have been introduced to enable Terna’s operational participation in the MARI platform.
The test activities, involving GME, Terna, and market participants, will take place in the period from 28 September 2026 to 13 November 2026.
GME will provide further details about the timeline and procedures for the test activities on a weekly basis, publishing them on the homepage of the test platform, at the following address: https://proveipex.ipex.it. The technical documents supporting the tests (i.e. the Implementation Guide) will be available on the same platform.
