Following the previous communication of 15 July 2025, GME informs market participants that it will organise some blank test sessions in view of the entry into force of the new Technical Rule no. 07 MGAS – Types of contracts, duration of the trading period and cascading mechanism. The test sessions will enable market participants to test the trading of the new contracts referred to in the amended Technical Rule.
In particular, during the first phase of the tests, the trading of the new Working Days Next Week (WK/DY NW) product will be simulated.
The blank test sessions will be held on working days only, from 23 September to 3 October, on the test platform available at https://provegas.ipex.it/MGasWebSite/ in the following hours:
- opening of the sitting for submission of bids/offers at 09:30;
- closing of the sitting for submission of bids/offers at 16:30.
The tests will take place according to the following timetable:
- from 23 to 26 September: trading of the WK/DY NW product (called in the MGAS: WD-2025-40), consisting of 5 gas-days (Monday 29, Tuesday 30, Wednesday 1, Thursday 2, and Friday 3 October);
- from 29 to 3 October: trading of the WK/DY NW product (called in the MGAS: WD-2025-41), consisting of 5 gas-days (Monday 6, Tuesday 7, Wednesday 8, Thursday 9, and Friday 10 October).
Participation in the blank tests will be open to parties registered with the live MGAS platform as of 8 September 2025.
Other parties wishing to take part in the blank tests may request the registration of their digital certificate at provegas.ipex.it/gaswebsite/register.aspx.
The second phase of the tests will take place in the week from 1 to 7 December, on working days only. During this phase, the additional products referred to in Technical Rule no. 07 will be traded. These products include: weekend products, consisting of more than two days, and the consequent daily products, as well as the WK/DY NW products, listed upon the occurrence of such event. The scenario for additional tests will occur for the first time in the MGAS in the 2025 Christmas period, during which a weekend product consisting of 4 days (i.e. WE-2025-52) will be listed.
Detailed information will be provided to market participants in November.
It is worth pointing out that the other weekend products listed in the MGAS, prior to the weekend of the 2025 Christmas period, will regularly include only the gas-days corresponding to Saturday and Sunday.
